Today I am getting back in the grove with one of the first meme's I ever started regularly participating, that I have unfortunately been dropping the ball on lately (I wish they would release the question for this week on Thursday night's so I could get this ready, I work every second Friday!) Anyway, they don't, and here we are. For anyone who stumbles upon this and isn't part of the hop, The Feature and Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by the fabulous (and fully decked out for Halloween!) Parajunkee and the equally as fabulous Alison Can Read. It focuses on featuring two blogs and also asks a question so we can all get to know another a little better! I have been holding my breathe to hopefully be a feature someday but I fear my irregular participation has probably put a hold on that dream! Anyway, this weeks features are my two newest friends (although they don't know it yet!), so you should go check out both of their lovely blogs!
Book Liaison
I was actually already a follower of this site prior to today (I love when that happens!) This blog has pretty colours, which just makes me feel happier when I am on their site! From a quick scan of their reviews, I can see we don't have a lot of the same books, which is great! most of the books I have read this year are because I discovered them on someone else's blog! I love that.
This blog is new to me today, and I took a read through, and it appears as though she has just worked her way through Kelly Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series, which I can totally get behind! I have just recently started that series, and it rocks.
And, now on to the question!
I think I have made a goof (which is not completely my fault, but I think Parajunkee has made of too) This week's feature is supposed to be Shelf Addiction, not Book Liason, but Parajunkee has the interview linked to Book Liason... so I'm not sure what's going on...
ReplyDeleteWoooo! :) I love dystopia, paranormal so its nice to see another that has been brought into the genre :).

Here's my FF :)
I'm so glad I started blogging so I could discover all these great books and different genres!
DeleteThanks for stopping by - happy to return the follow. While it's start to get a little stale, I still like a good, scary, imaginative dystopian novel.

Yeah, I guess when something gets popular, the market gets a little saturated, but I agree a good book is still a good book! and I'm loving dystopians too!
DeleteGreat answer! I couldn't agree more that blogging has exposed me to so many great books, that I would otherwise not read. I wouldn't say that I had a certain genre in the beginning, but definitely stuck to YA Paranormal/Dystopian/Urban Fantasy. Now I just read what sounds good to me.
ReplyDeleteHere's my FF.
Happy Friday!

Great answer! Thanks for stopping by my blog! Happy Friday! :D
ReplyDeleteBlogging has definitely expanded my interests too! Before blogging a lot of the books I read now I probably never would've picked up.
ReplyDeleteGreat answer & I like your blog. Following back!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I just changed it's look :)
DeleteI love learning about new books from the bloggers I follow or my Goodreads friends. It really expands what I would have (once upon a time) picked up to read.
ReplyDeleteNew Linky Follower! My F&F post :)
I don't read a whole lot of YA but I do like the new adult genre. I've been reading a lot of those for the blog lately. But really, I'm a science fiction junkie myself! PNR is what I read out of my genre! :)

I think the 'New Adult' genre is something I just heard of today... I'll have to look around your blog more to figure out what that really is!
DeleteI think you'll really enjoy YA contemporary. It's pretty much my favorite genre thus far.
ReplyDeleteNew follower! My FF :)
I have read some, I like them when I'm in the mood for something a little more fun. Although I read a John Green novel and it pretty much left me crying for a week.
DeleteThose are definitely my favorite genres :)
ReplyDeleteGood choice :)
Old Follower!
It's so great that blogging has opened you up to so many new genres! It definitely has had that effect on me as well though I was pretty open to any genre before. :)

Here is my FF if you would like to follow back. ^.^
That is one of the things I love about book blogging - reading about all these great books I might not have heard of otherwise! Thanks for stopping by my blog, I'm a new follower of yours as well!
ReplyDeleteI too have changed what I read because of blogging. I didn't even like YA until I started blogging.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by.
Yay! We've converted another reader to YA!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI've been a YA reader for years but weirdly enough since I've been blogging I've started reading erotica again!
I'm a new follower, yay!
Thanks for stopping by my FF'S for this week
Book Me! and Carmen Jenner.com
Have a great week! =D
I had read a few that become popular (like Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants) and I liked them, but I really had no idea just what was out there! I used to consider myself an avid reader, but until I started blogging, I really wasn't! Even now, I still feel like I don't read much compared to others.
DeleteI really love me so YA books though!
Hey!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by my blog this past Friday (sorry for the late response)!
I hope you'll continue to visit my site throughout the week (for Tuney Tuesdays and What's the Word? Weekends too)!!! :D
Great answer to this past FF's question!!! I'm totally a new follower of yours!!! :D
