Hello Everyone,
I know I said sometime in the summer not to expect me back for awhile! Unfortunately, I still am crazy busy and not getting enough reading done to be blogging lately, or even considered a book worm! Hoping that is going to change soon, as at the end of this month I won't be working 2 jobs anymore! I will be back in school, so I won't be where I used to be, but should still be picking up books a little more often!
I have quite a few reviews to catch up on again. I was posting 3 in each, but I didn't really like how that was going, so I'm going to do some separate, short ones to get caught up.
In other news, 5 things that are going on in my life that I can tell you about:
1) As I said, I will be going down to one job and back to school. People are very surprised about this, but I have quit my full time job! I will be working at the restaurant as much as possible, and will be taking 2014 to finish my MBA and am also going to complete a Masters Certificate in Supply Chain Management and Procurement. SO that will be a big change for me!
2) I joined a book club! Our first meeting was last week, and we read 'The Husband's Secret'. Our next book is The Glass Castle, which I already read, so I don't think I'll re-read it, but I like being a part of it. More on the Husbands Secret later.
3) Next week I am going on vacation!!!! Yay!! I can't wait. 8 days in Las Vegas will be a blast!!
4) I have hurt my back :( I'm actually in a great deal of pain right now and had to give up my shift at BP tonight in favor of making a massage appt to see if I can get it fixed. Not good times.
5) And lastly, I am almost caught up on watching Dexter, we are set to watch S08E05 next, so I will soon get to find out how the season finale is do disappointing. Its still a good season, so it sucks to know it ends poorly. Oh well!
Anyway, over the next few days some book reviews will get posted, so take a look for them. Maybe there will be some you haven't read!

Connected!!
Hallelujah! I'm told we are now a connected household!!! I'm currently away for work, so I don't get to enjoy it, but I have internet at the hotel :) I have to grip a bit about what went down with the internet providers though, so bear with me!
So, we moved into our house on November 9th, and we had a service appointment with Bell that same day! (What luck!) So the guy shows up to connect it, and he isn't able to because the building hasn't been connected yet. Why would Bell send a technician, shouldn't they know they haven't set the building up yet?! But, OK, fine. When ARE you going to connect the building? The tech guy didn't know, and told me I would have to give Bell a call. Mildly irritating, but fine. So the next day I called Bell and they said the building was ready to be serviced, and did I want to make an appointment? I was like- Lady, are you listening to me at all?? Someone was here yesterday and couldn't. She didn't seem to comprehend this, but said she would get an answer and call me back. Two days go by, and nothing. BF calls Bell again, and at least gets someone who can tell our building isn't hooked up. He asks her how long, she was like "I don't know, could be a week, could be a month". WTF kind of answer is that. So, we played the waiting game for awhile. We had tons of painting, unpacking, organizing, and everything else to do anyway, so we didn't mind much. After another 9 days of hearing nothing, we started to get concerned. Neighbours were starting to get Rogers service, but Bell wasn't yet available. On November 23rd (2 weeks after we moved in) we decided to switch to Rogers. We wanted to keep our same phone number, and Rogers said that wouldn't be a problem. So, we had a service appointment set up, and we just had to call and get Bell to transfer our phone number to Rogers. When BF called to do that, Bell told us that it would cost $50.00 to reconnect the number. We were like, Why did you disconnect it?? You were supposed to hook it back up!! Argh!! But whatever, not that many people use our home number, its not that much trouble to get a new one. So BF calls Rogers back and gets a new number for us. They are coming the following Wednesday, Nov. 27! Yay! So at this point, we love Rogers and hate Bell. SO, Wednesday comes, and BF is home waiting for the guy to come... and he never shows up! WTFFFFF dude! So BF calls Rogers and is like... um, where were you today? And they were like, what are you talking about? I guess what happened was because the girl he set the appointment up with reopened it to add in a new phone number, something went wrong, and the service appointment never got saved. So, we got some sort of credit for the inconvenience and rebooked for the next Wednesday, December 5th. And begins another week without TV/phone/internet. December 5th comes, and the guy shows up (victory!!) now we are relieved that everything is OK. But, guess what! Something else is wrong. So dude gets up on the pole to feed some wire in, and the tech that was there before him left the cap off some pipe, and water got in it, and froze. He can't feed the wire into it, and he leaves... So, no hookup for us.
Finally, today, one month and two days after we moved into the house, we have internet. I hope this means its a Merry Christmas to come!
While we had no connections, we started watching Star Wars (both of our first times), so we have two more episodes to go, and you can be sure there will be a post about that coming soon. Also, in all my downtime, I didn't do too much reading, but I have a few new reviews to write, so I will get to those soon. As well, I will be back to participating in the weekly FF and TTT starting Friday!

Moving Week Blues
I'm sure most people have moved at least once in their life. It can be a real pain. I thought it was pretty crappy when I was younger and my family moved, and all I was responsible for packing was my bedroom. Through university I pretty much moved every year, but even then I didn't have a WHOLE lot of stuff, only 2-3 car fulls. Two years ago when we bought this house was the first time I really had to move furniture, and even then we were moving from a 1 bedroom apartment (that was soo tiny!) to a whole house. Well, we decided to buy a second house, and now the moving part is going to be such a headache!
Just packing and labeling and cleaning the house was bad enough, but now we are facing some huge delays at the hands of moronic lawyers. Which is SO frustrating. We will be renting the house we live in now to tenants (and becoming a landlord is another first for us!) so when our closing date on the new place got delayed, we had to delay our tenants (THANK GOD they were so flexible - we could have been homeless if not!!) and now we still have no idea when we will get to move!
I have been living out of packed boxes since Thursday, as that was when we were supposed to move, and now we have our movers scheduled for Friday. We are hoping to get the keys a little earlier so we can do the painting that needs to get done, but ARGH! I am so super frustrated over this! I won't go into detail about why the house isn't closed and ready for occupancy, but I can say that it is because a lawyer (not ours) didn't do their job! And that's what makes me the most angry, that its because simple paperwork wasn't processed that it didn't happen. Its not a problem with the builders, or suppliers, or anything in my control, its just laziness!
I haven't been doing much else but cleaning and packing and making phone calls to continuously change dates of everything, so I had to get this rant off my chest! BF and I are about ready to go postal! Our plan was to buy another property in 2-3 years and do the same thing (rent and move somewhere else) but this experience has definitely left a bad taste in my mouth!

Re-Designed and Ready To Rock! + Top Ten Tuesday (Oct 16th)
Hello Everyone!
So, you may or may not have noticed, but over the last month I have just not been into blogging, and really haven't been doing much reading either... (which I completely blame of Sons of Anarchy!! But my TV life is a whole other story!!)
I've been doing some thinking about my blog, and I really do love writing it, but sometimes I feel a lot of pressure. There are so many AMAZING book blogs out there, that I feel like I don't compare at all. I constantly feel pressure to have more books read so I can post more reviews to the point where it doesn't feel fun anymore. I'm sure I'm not the only person out there who has felt this way at one point or another over the life of their blog.
Some conclusions that I have come to are:

Top Three Favorite Contemporary Romance Authors:
1) Stephanie Perkins
All Hail Stephanie Perkins and her lovely lovely adorable books. If you haven't read Anna and the French Kiss, shame shame on you! This book has all the feel good warm fuzzies, the "OMG KISS" factor, and the relatableness that is so important in YA contemporary romance books. She is amazing.
2) Megan McCafferty
What a fantastic series McCafferty wrote (yes, I'm looking at you Jessica Darling). This book series IS the teen girl experience. There was so many times that Jessica could have been me in high school (we even have the same name!) These books are fantastic. Also, Bumped is a great book too. A great dystopian book, still littered with teen romance. She is fabulous.
3) Sarah Dessen
Contemporary romance: nailed it.
She is fantastic, and I rack myself with guilt that I have only opened myself to her grandness recently. I need more Sarah Dessen in my life!
Top Four Favorite Fantasy Authors:
1) J.K. Rowling
No explaination needed, buuut. She rocked the world's socks off, seriously. Harry Potter actually changed me, and very few books have done that.
2) Cassandra Clare
I haven't even read that much by her, only 3 of her books, but even while reading other good books I can't stop myself from thinking "I wish I was finished this so I could start the next Mortal Instruments book" That's how much I just love them. The Infernal Devices too. Clockwork Prince was great. If I wasn't working so hard on trying to clean up some old TBR list stuff, I would have devoured them all long ago. She has a fantastic, enthralling writing style.
3) Richelle Mead
The fact that it took me so long to read a book by her is amazing. I only started the Vampire Academy books a short time ago, and I'm already hooked! They are great stories. She rocks.
4) Stephenie Meyer
I enjoyed the Twilight novels, but she wouldn't have made this list for those. However, I recently finished The Host, and I loved that book. Wow, it was fantastic. If anyone is staying away from it because they didn't like Twilight, you shouldn't. It's an emotional roller-coaster of goodness. Go read it!

Delirium is great, Pandemonium is great, can't wait for Requiem! Oliver is a fantastic author, I have Before I Fall and I can't wait to get to it. I'm even planning to pick up Liesel and Po just to have more of her! She really is amazing.
2) Suzanne Collins
The Hunger Games is what I attribute my love of Dystopian to. I had read (and loved) other dystopian books (like Ender's Game) but I wouldn't have been able to classify a love for this genre until this series. She is such an engaging, exciting author. I hope that what she comes out with next is also great!
3) Veronica Roth
For a debut novel, Divergent was awesome! I fell in love with Tris and Four and that world. Insurgent was amazing too. Whatever happens next, I can't wait to get my hands on it. She is fantastic, and I hope she keeps it up!

- My Life in General
- I think that by adding these things in, not only will my readers get to know me as a whole person, but I will feel more connected to my blog and that will show in the quality of things I do on here as well. I think it's just best for me, the blog, and my readers.
- Another thing is, Twitter. I really tried to get into tweeting, and I actually kind of like doing it, but I read to many things on Twitter that I didn't want to see! I am way too busy to watch most of my shows when they come on, so I normally end up a season behind most things (Netflix and I are BFF) and lots of people live tweet though things and spoil it! Its infuriating! So, I don't think I will be doing much tweeting. Just so you know why :)

So I finally made a new post...
I'm sure this happens to everyone at some point or another, but for the last few weeks I haven't given one crap about this blog, and haven't been doing much reading at all. Today I have a post with a small review scheduled, but only because I felt like I had to. So for anyone who actually reads this, sorry about the lack of content, and I promise when the desire to read and write comes back (which it will, just who knows when!) I will be back too!

Sick Day Blues
Hey Everyone, today I am home sick from work, and sick I am. I have spent so long in bed that I needed a change of scenery and thought I would give you all a little update on what I'm reading and what else I am up to these days.
So first, I have a horrible horrible head cold. The kind where my throat, nose, eyes, sinuses, neck, and back all just ache from the sheer terribleness of it. I have been in bed for about 24 hours and I think that's why I'm aching so much, so I thought I would spend 30 minutes sitting up to see if I am feeling better. I feel so crappy, I can hardly even read. So yeah, now you KNOW its bad!
Other than that, there are a few life things going on. I went back to my part time job in addition to my full time one. I had initially left it because I was planning to buy another house that needed several renovations, and I will be working towards a MBA/CMA designation starting in the fall (well, I already have started, but I took the summer off, so I will be starting again!) But, instead we decided to purchase something new, so I won't have to put in the sweat equity, and we will rent out or current house. We have some big life plans which we are trying to sort out, that the extra income certainly won't hurt, so I went back! And they are so good to me there, I might as well. I'm very lucky having two jobs where I have fantastic co-workers.
Also, I mentioned some big plans - well, in recent years I have had a huge wanderlust growing inside of me. I have always loved to travel, but it is so expensive! So, my lovely boyfriend, being the dear that he is is going to allow me to indulge in this passion for a few years, if we can meet some criteria first. *side* it is probably important to mention he is the responsible one of the two of us. So, first - we need to have a home to come back to, with some sort of asset. So, that's why we will have two houses being rented by the time we leave, so we will have other people paying our mortgage while we are away, and we have something to come back to. Second - we need to get rid of all our bad debt! That includes any lines of credit and consumer debt. Of course we will have mortgages and I will still have some lingering student loans, but those are/were investments. I am making good on paying my student loans back though, so no trouble there. This is why I am working the second job, to bank some money because all my income from my other job has to pay of debt - booo. I think we are going to do an Eat Pray Love type trip (except it won't be as lame as that book) where we actually live in certain places, and get jobs there to make enough to live off of, and then after 6-8 months, move on. We are somewhat limited to our choices of where we can go for some time, as we have a 7(ish) year old dog that I would not leave behind. So, in late 2014-early 2015 I think our first stop is going to be New York City! That is my dream city to live in, and since its expensive, it's probably a good place to start while we still have some savings, and in my research, it seems like a lot of small apts. let you have animals (not the case here, almost all rentals say no pets). Anyway, even though that isn't for quite awhile, it's all I think about, so I thought I would write about it! If any one who reads this has ever done anything similar, any and all advice would be appreciated (unless you're jaded, then I don't want to hear it! haha).
Finally, I have made a commitment to try and make a lot of my Christmas gifts to people this year. I have a sister blog to this one about my craftiness, but I almost always forget to take pictures of things, so it never gets updated! But maybe this time I will, and of course I can't post til after Christmas, but it's exciting to think of all the stuff I can make that people will love!
And finally for today, I'm working on too many books right now. Four is just too many. I started a new one last night, and I shouldn't have but I have been dying to get to it, and I finally loaded it on to my ereader, so I had to start.
That book is: Insurgent by Veronica RothI had been waiting for this book to be released for so long, and then when it finally was, and I bought it, it just sat there... I know, story of so many of our lives, but really. I should have started it earlier. I'm on Ch.4 cause I fell asleep from my delirious illness, and now that I am slightly more alert I'm making myself finish one of the others before I keep going.
The book that I will finish today is: Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey.
I have no idea what is wrong with this book, but it is not compatible with my ereader, it takes like a full minute for each page to turn, I feel like I have been reading it forever. I'm over 90% done it though, so hopefully I can finish it. It sucks because it's not a bad book, but the book acting funny is making me dislike it more!
Let the Great World Spin by Colum McCann
This book I started because when I reviewed my 2012 TBR Original Challenge list, it was on there, and I realized I wasn't doing so well with my original list, and I don't want to feel like I failed that challenge. I'm about 30% done this one now, but it isn't a genre I normally read, so I'm not really flying through it. It is good though.
Last but not least, Under The Dome by Stephen King
This book I am reading the paper copy of, and it is HUGE and HEAVY, so I have only been picking at it. I bet when it starts to get good I will have a hard time putting it down, but I have barely started it so far.
Otherwise, that's really it. I'm going back to bed now. I really home that I feel better tomorrow! I hate taking sick days, and I HATE being sick!!

Life Updates
Hello All -
How is 2012 going so far? For me very good. I crossed my fourth book off my 2012 TBR Pile Reading Challenge list (although I had jumped the gun on 2 of them in December 2011) so that is coming along nicely. I challenged myself to read 50 books this year with my Goodreads challenge as well. I don't think that is overly ambitious, but I didn't want to have to revise down if life got too busy.
School started last week, but today was my first official day of classes. It's going to be hard work to do 3 courses, and work a full-time and part-time job as well, but I'm up for the challenge. The only unfortunate part is in times of papers and assignments due, I will most likely fall behind on my reading and TV shows. I'm currently about 6 weeks behind in all my normal TV shows, because I started watching the Vampire Diaries (holy different from the books!!!) and it's addicting.
I only have one outstanding review, and that is funny enough the secind Vampire Diaries book: The Struggle. I was given volumes 2 and four as well as the first two in The Return for christmas, so they will get picked up soon as well. Currently I am reading Delirium, which I also got for Christmas, and have been looking forward to for some time now.
Anyway, just wanted to let you know where I was these days! Happy 2012 to you all!

School started last week, but today was my first official day of classes. It's going to be hard work to do 3 courses, and work a full-time and part-time job as well, but I'm up for the challenge. The only unfortunate part is in times of papers and assignments due, I will most likely fall behind on my reading and TV shows. I'm currently about 6 weeks behind in all my normal TV shows, because I started watching the Vampire Diaries (holy different from the books!!!) and it's addicting.
I only have one outstanding review, and that is funny enough the secind Vampire Diaries book: The Struggle. I was given volumes 2 and four as well as the first two in The Return for christmas, so they will get picked up soon as well. Currently I am reading Delirium, which I also got for Christmas, and have been looking forward to for some time now.
Anyway, just wanted to let you know where I was these days! Happy 2012 to you all!

Just Some Life Updates
Hello All!
So, I haven't been doing much reading this week (shame, shame) but it is with good reason! I have been pretty busy. As I have said, I am working towards my MBA, and I have a test tomorrow, so I have been studying, but I have also been working on some term papers that are going to be due soon! So, school keeps me reading, but not the books I want to be! (and I'm positive a review of 'Industrial Relations in Canada' wouldn't be a riveting piece of work to any of you!)
As well, I FINALLY found a part time job to help out with my finances! I am Best Buy's newest cashier! I'm pretty pumped about it, as I am really starting to stress out that I haven't been able to pay my full credit card balance in about 3 months! So, this will get me back in the black by Christmas! What a relief!
And, even more things to full up my time instead of glorious, glorious books... I have decided to recommit myself to working on my fitness. The BF has put some really awesome gym equipment in our basement, so I have been getting in shape about 3-4 times a week. This is pretty important to me, and I have taken almost a year away from the gym (our local Nubody's was bought by Goodlife Fitness, and the atmosphere of these gyms is so negative that I cancelled my membership). I still need to get a few dumbbells that are a little more manageable for some of my exercises, but we have these awesome straps that are seriously AMAZING (I can't find a link, but will update this if I do).
So, if you're wondering why you won't/haven't seen a review in a while, this is why. I am almost finished Midnight Sun (the Twilight book from Edward's point of view, it wasn't published, but is on the authors website) and I will probably have a few comments about it, but not a lot. Other than that I am working through Little Women, and started Bel Canto by Ann Patchett the other day too. I am supposed to be participating in the Fall Into Reading challenge, but the last 2 books I read weren't even on that list, and I haven't been keeping up with the weekly questions. Maybe once I get this test out of the way, I will do a blast with the ones I have missed.
Anyway, just wanted to say hello and give a quick update, I know there is a lot of read-a-thons going on right now, so if you are participating, I am SO jealous of you right now!!!

Life Updates
So today was a pretty big day for me, it was the first day of school :) I started my MBA today! Yahoo! So in 3-4 short years I will have a few new letters after my name. This time next year I will also (hopefully) be starting my CMA (Certified Managerial Accountant - don't know if it's called the same thing outside of Canada) designation. I write the entrance exam for that in June, and will need to start studying in approx. April.... ugh.
Other than that I also had an interview for a part-time job I mentioned I was looking for awhile back. So hopefully I hear back from that soon - I need some extra $$$!!
I didn't get much reading done over the long weekend as I had anticipated. We decided to remodel our half bathroom which was in pretty rough shape. It was pretty interesting, we refinished the counter tops, changed the flooring, got a new faucet, and gave it a fresh coat of paint. I will post some pics later when I get them loaded on the computer.
I have however updated my Goodreads TBR list... I think its almost at 300! Lots to read. I'm almost done One Fifth by Candace Bushell too, so I can review that (and mention a few of her others as well) and I'm about a 1/4 way through the 2nd Sookie Stackhouse Novel by Charlaine Harris, but I'm going to wait to do a post about a few of them together.
